The Memorial Brick program was a previous program where bricks were purchased and engraved to remember loved ones who have passed and placed in the entrance and gardens of the previous Senior Activity Center. While we no longer offer the Memorial Brick program, the previously purchased Memorial Bricks are placed outside the Active Adults Entrance at Thrive. 

• Trees may be donated at any time of the year; however, they will only be planted from late October to early March. The exact location of the tree placement within a park area or greenbelt must be in an area with existing irrigation. The donor may request a location and species of the tree; however, the exact location and species will be determined by the Parks & Recreation Department based on need and site conditions. Trees will be a minimum of two inch caliper in diameter and will be purchased and planted by the City. Trees will be pruned and maintained to the same standard as other trees in the park. The City will guarantee the tree for five years after it is planted. After five years the City may or may not replace any trees that have died or have been damaged. Memorial plaques may not be placed immediately next to the tree.

   

• Should donors wish to participate in the planting of a memorial tree, or wish to host a commemorative ceremony, they may make arrangements with the department to do so. Donors are responsible for all ceremonial arrangements and associated costs. If the donor chooses, a card or certificate of acknowledgement will be sent to the recipient's family advising that their loved one has been memorialized or honored in this special way.

   

• The cost of the memorial tree is the City's cost from the supplier for the tree plus an administrative fee for planting as established in the City of Lewisville Code of Ordinances (Section 2-201. Fee Schedule). Orders will be placed after full payment is received from donor.
