Memorial requests in City owned and operated parks may be accepted in the following categories:

  • Memorial Bench Program
  • Memorial Brick
  • Tree Donation Program
  • The donor may select a bench style from the list that has been pre-approved by the Parks & Recreation Director for various park areas. The donor may request a location for the bench; however the exact location will be selected by the Parks Department based on need and site conditions.  The City will maintain the benches  for five years  in their original location or in an area near the original location. Any vandalized plaques or further replacement  costs must be incurred by the donor. The City will  purchase and install the benches on a concrete pad. If a plaque is desired, it will  be 5"x 8" with a maximum of three lines of text, with 15 characters per line. Plaque wording must be approved by the Director.

  • Should donors wish to host a commemorative ceremony, they may make arrangements with the department to do so. Donors are responsible for all ceremonial arrangements and associated  costs. If  the donor chooses, a card or certificate of acknowledgement will be sent to the recipient's family advising that their loved one has been memorialized or honored in this special way.

  • The cost of the memorial bench is the City's cost from the supplier for the bench plus an administrative fee for installation on a concrete pad as established in the City of Lewisville Code of Ordinances (Section 2-201. Fee Schedule). Orders will be placed after full payment is received from donor.
